Alberoni University

In 1998 the concept of establishment of a university with Sharya, Law, Agriculture, Engineering and Medical faculties in Kapisa Province was approved to as an institution of Higher Education Ministry. On 2000 it started its activity with one Faculty (Shariya) and in the year 2002 during its registration, it had 5 faculties. The faculty of education in the year 2003 and faculty of literature in the year 2004 were registered. Totally this university has 6 faculties with 1643 of 1581 are male students and other 62 female students and 61 professors. (2008)

Khost University

Khost University (Pashto: د خوست پوهنتون) (nickname: Shaikh Zayed University) is located in the border town of Khost in eastern Afghanistan. It was established in the year 2000. It was shifted from its previous temporary location in Peshawar, Pakistan, where it was named "Afghan University Peshawar" by special order of President Hamid Karzai.

Balkh University

Balkh University (Persian: دانشگاه بلخ) is located in Mazari Sharif, capital of Balkh province, in northern Afghanistan. Established in 1986, the university in 2008 had about 5500 students and is the third largest in Afghanistan after Kabul University and Nangarhar University. Faculties include medicine, engineering, economics, journalism, literature, law and science.

Requirements

Students interested in applying for admissions to the Khurasan Institute must fulfill the following requirements:

1. Submit a completed application for admission.

2. Submit attestation of high school graduation or its equivalent including one copy of your high school transcript and one copy of your high school diploma.

3. Submit one copy of your tazkera or passport.

4. For transfer students, submit official transcripts from any other colleges/universities attended.

5. Complete and submit your results from the Concourse Exam.

6. Complete the Khurasan entrance exam and English language evaluation (for our English only programs).*

*Note: For those who do not pass the English language requirement, we offer 6 months and 1 year diploma programs that will help you prepare for the coursework that will be mainly in the English language.

In addition, technical experts such as engineers often rise to positions of authority in the country's growing civil service, where they strongly influence not only infrastructure projects but alliances with international partners and governments. The University of Hartford is currently involved in two partnerships with Herat University.

Ghazni University

Ghazni University(Persian: دانشگاه غزنی) is a newly established university in Ghazni, a city in central Afghanistan. The university now has 250 students, but will be expanded to 500. Ahmad Shah Rafiqi is the rector of the university. Ghazni University is supported by the local Polish PRT. The Polish have provided over 250 books for the students to learn English, and is cooperating with the university to provide teaching material for agriculture and technical science.

Paktia University

Paktia University (Pashto: د پکتيا پوهنتون) is a public institution located in the city of Gardez in Paktia Province, eastern Afghanistan.
Paktia University was established in the year 2004. Until March 2009, the university was sharing a building with the teacher training college.
The institution currently has an enrollment of approximately 1,000 students with a dominant number of male students. It consists of two faculties in fields of agriculture and education. There are approximately 45 professors teaching in the university.

Faryab Higher Education Institute

Parwan Higher Education Institute university

Introducation

At first this institution Established in 1961 in the form of Primary Teacher training center in the addition to Numan High School in this province. In 1967 this center promoted to a TTC then in 1999 it promoted to HEI. It has 35 teachers with 29 male 6 females and has 1312 students. 1188 male and 124 are females.

Bamiyan University

History

Bamyan – “The Place of Shining Light”– sits at the crossroads of many civilisations. Its location near one of the main crossing points through the Hindu Kush means that its history has been heavily influenced by passing merchants, pilgrims and conquerors. In the early centuries of the first millennium AD, Bamyan was part of the Buddhist Kushan empire, which from its base in today’s Afghanistan united large parts of India and Central Asia. The spread of Buddhism from its Indian homeland north into Central Asia and then the Far East began along roads tramped by the traders and soldiers of the Kushan empire.

The earliest references to Bamyan occur in the 4th century, but the first detailed description of the valley was written by the Chinese pilgrim, Hsuan Tsang, who passed through in about 630 AD on his way to visit Buddhist holy sites in India. Recent research has shown that some of the Buddhist frescoes in Bamyan can be dated back to the early 5th century.

Since December 2001 and the inauguration of the Afghanistan Interim Administration (AIA) Afghanistan?s economic, social and political achievements have been extraordinary.  The AIA, and the subsequent Transitional Islamic State of Afghanistan (TISA) were confronted with an economy reeling from protracted conflict and drought, more than five million people displaced as refugees in neighboring countries, economic activities steered in an informal or illicit direction by insecurity, and a state that had become virtually non functional in terms of policy making and service delivery ? although the structures and many staff remained.  The achievements ? various reforms in the government, a successful constitutional Loya Jirga, peaceful completion of the country?s first ever presidential election, and the inauguration of the new Cabinet in December 2004, just to name a few ? have been significant, and in Afghanistan?s context, remarkable. 

Kabul University

Kabul University

The Kabul University is located in Kabul, capital of Afghanistan. It was founded in 1931 but officially opened for classes in 1932. Kabul University is the only registered higher education institution in the green book of UNESCO and its Diploma is known at international level. The establishment of Kabul University in the same year as an independent central unit caused the formation and management of higher education versatility improved.  The first structure of this university was the building of medical faculty and its supplements. Kabul University is currently attended by approximately 9660 students, of which 2336 are females in 15 faculties. The total numbers of faculty members are  597that 122 of them are female professors.  (2008).
